The 2nd graders participated in Pumpkin Seed Count 2010 sponsored by Technospud.  Mrs. Schuler read the book How Many Seeds in a Pumpkin by Margaret NcNamara.  The students learned many interesting facts about pumpkins that helped them, when it came time to estimate the seeds of their pumpkin.  After examining their pumpkin, each second grader estimated the number of seeds in their pumpkin.  Each student was given an opportunity to help dig out the pumpkin seeds after Mrs. Schuler cut open the pumpkin.  Students then sorted the seeds into groups of ten.  A total of 420 seeds were counted.  Students enjoyed roasted pumpkin seeds the next day!
