After completing our Geometry unit in Math, the 2nd graders became involved in the Technospud.com “The Shape of Things” project.  Each student created a picture using only squares, triangles, and circles.  They used the computer program, Appleworks and their laptops.  First, they designed their project on paper.  Next, they learned how to draw the shapes and how to add color to the shapes on their laptops.  They also learned how to slide, turn, duplicate, and size each shape.  Students even received some suggestions and help from their classmates.  Everyone’s project was printed, matted, and displayed on the hall bulletin board to be shared with the rest of the school.  They are very proud of their projects, as they should be!  This was a great project to finish up our unit in Geometry!
